Bacon Sundae Dessert Recipe

Bacon Lovers Unite. We Can Now Have Our Favourite Food for Dessert

Yep, it's me again. The girl who cannot resist bacon and I have a brand new dessert recipe to share that you bacon lovers are going to go hog wild for because it contains your favorite meat. (Which is bacon of course.) Yep, it's a BACON SUNDAE and it is going to have you begging for a second helping of this meat hearty dessert treat. So grab your frying pan and your favorite bacon then let's get frying.

For those not in the know bacon does indeed come in different varieties so in case you were wondering exactly what selections you have to choose from here are a few: Maple, Canadian, Speck, slab, gypsy style, Pancetta, Turkey, lamb, beef (technically bacon but I do beg to differ on this one), and good old side bacon which is actually honest to goodness true American style bacon.

Question is.... Can You Handle the Flavour? We are going to take one of the positively best ingredients used in desserts which is ICE CREAM and combine it with what can only be described as the absolute BEST meat ever gnawed on by man, BACON. We combine them together. OMG!!!

So here is the ingredient list and the directions. After which I will show you a step by step tutorial just in case you haven't managed to grasp the concept quite yet.

Ingredients:

*Ice Cream (Your choice of flavours)

*Bacon

*Ice Cream Syrup (Optional)

Directions:

1: Dice up your bacon and cook it nice a crispy

2: Dish up a scoop of your favourite ice cream

3: Scoop some bacon onto your ice cream

4. Repeat steps two and three.

5. Drizzle on some maple syrup (Optional).

So Dice up Your Bacon Slices and Fry Up Those Bacon Bits. Fry it! Drain it!

Tip: Semi thawed meat is always the easiest to slice and dice.

A Bacon Sundae is the perfect treat for a birthday. Now I don't know about you but I prefer to have a sweet ice cream dessert after my main meal and this recipe tends to add a unique twist to things. Adding bacon to ice cream creates a fantastically sweet and crunchy treat that is indeed something out of the ordinary. So instead of having just plain vanilla ice cream drizzled with syrup or boring old cake with this recipe you get the ultimate meat lover's treat.

We have this friend that loves bacon as much as we do, and we were heading to his place to celebrate his birthday, so we decided to make him one of our bacon sundae's and bring it to him with a candle instead of a piece of cake. Needless to say, it was a HUGE hit with him and I have a feeling that he'll be making more of these in the very near future.

Pop in a Scoop of Ice Cream! Sprinkle on the Bacon! First Layer of Bacon. Oh the Aroma is so Enticing...On top of using any type of ice cream that your little heart might desire you can also experiment with the wide assortment of bacon types as well. What bacon lover doesn't love maple bacon? None that I have ever encountered.

Just keep in mind that only real bacon will do. Some bacon products try to trick you into thinking that they are real bacon but don't you believe them. Don't be thinking that vegetarian bacon comes from vegetarian pigs because it most certainly does not. If you are one of those people with a super sweet tooth you may also enjoy adding some real maple syrup in to add a bit more traditional thought to this recipe. Adding some syrup throughout the layers on your bacon sundae will work well too.

Add More Ice Cream! Sprinkle on More Bacon!
Bacon for Dessert... Need I say more?

Have left over bacon that you haven't used yet? You don't have to stop at the second layer if you don't want to. Keep adding layers of bacony goodness until YOU are satisfied!!! I have heard that some people try to make a bacon sundae using simulated bacon bits.

Let's face the facts, there is no substitute for REAL bacon. Bacon is meat candy! Don't try to get away with anything less than the real deal please. Gives me shivers just thinking about it.

Share a Sundae With Your Friends - Cause it's Bacon! BACON!!! I Can't Resist it Because I am a Bacon-Aholic.

Of course the decision of how to serve your ice cream is totally up to you but weigh the choices: Plain vanilla ice cream vs bacon ice cream? I mean think about it? BACON!!!Oh yum. The thought of bacon ice cream treats makes my tummy shiver in delightful anticipation. So let's get cooking (or should I say chilling?). My bacon ice cream sundae recipe is easy to adapt and change into how you would enjoy it most... so open up your cupboard (or fridge) and see what you can create.

Don't want to make your own there are are a few restaurants that have been known to make bacon ice cream treats. So guess who else makes bacon ice cream treats? Denny's and Burger King make a bacon sundae and Jack in the Box serves up a mean bacon milkshake (which sounds absolutely delicious too).
